2005 was the first full year for the flagship Ford sedan. The Five Hundred ressurected an old nameplate for Ford to compete against the successful designed Chrysler 300 model. The Five Hundred positioned the driver higher than most other sedans. Mercury's version of the Five Hundred was called the Montego, another resurrected name.
