1954 Mercedes Benz W196
1999 Mercedes Benz CLK-LM

Shown at the 1999 Detroit Auto Show was this historical racing machine. To introduce Mercedes into the racing of the CLK-LM in 1999, the Detroit Auto Show had a dedicated racing section for Mercedes where several racing models were on display.
The CLK-LM was one of several racing models by Mercedes Benz at the Detroit 1999 Auto Show. With 600 horsepower - the CLK-LM raced at LeMans and led the GT Championship for Mercedes.

I saw this at the 1995 Minneapolis Auto Show. This was a preview of the Vehicross that would come in 1999.
The XU-1 concept had gullwing doors and styling cues that carried over to the radical Vehicross.

The original Solstice prototype/concept shown in Detroit 2004.
Hard to imagine that just two years after displaying this concept the Plymouth brand would disappear. The Barrett-Jackson Auction in 1999 in Scottsdale Arizona had a huge tent filled with Chrysler concepts and historical models. This was one of them which I think resembles a Porsche Boxster.

The Official Pace Car Viper GTS at the Barrett-Jackson Auction. I saw this model very close to a series of Shelby Durango and Dakota trucks.
A striking beautiful concept reminiscent of the Talbot Lago and Bugatti. I was fortunate to see this concept at the 1999 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale Arizona.
